About severe storm damage and the conclusion of the First Alert Weather Days

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – The First Alert Weather Team has decided to continue First Alert Weather Days through Saturday as this long-lasting heat wave continues. In addition to the heat, there will be more rain showers and thunderstorms across Central Michigan Friday afternoon and Saturday.

Friday will be very similar to Thursday, with highs between 30 and 32 degrees. A mix of clouds and cloudy sunshine is expected for much of the day. Once again, we’ll be watching the radar in the afternoon and into the evening hours to see where thunderstorms develop today. Like Thursday, thunderstorms that form in the afternoon could bring damaging winds, hail and heavy rain. All storms should clear after sunset and scattered fog is possible overnight. Lows will be back to 21 degrees tonight.

First Alert Chief Meteorologist Darrin Rockcole joins the News 10+ Digital Desk to talk about what lies ahead.
