IMPD investigates Pat Beverley’s incident with Pacers fan

The cameras showed Beverley sitting on the bench, throwing a ball into the stands and hitting a fan with about two and a half minutes left as Milwaukee lost 120-98 in Game 6, knocking the Bucks out of the playoffs. After another fan threw the ball back to Beverley, who extended his arm to do so, the Bucks guard fired it back at that spectator.

Beverley declined to answer a question about it when speaking to reporters after the game. But he replied to an X post The video showed this with the words: “Not fair at all.” Exchanged throughout the night between a fan and our ball club. We warned all night and asked for help. Not fair.”

Six hours later, Beverley issued another X post say, “But I have to get better.” And I will.”

According to IMPD, officers prepared an initial case report that was later forwarded to investigators. IMPD investigators say they are working with Gainbridge Fieldhouse personnel to review video footage.

The department also says it plans to speak with everyone involved and present the case to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office after the investigation is complete.
