Police issue 31 tickets during DUI check in Chula Vista – San Diego Union-Tribune

On Saturday night, 31 drivers were issued citations at a checkpoint in Chula Vista, two for suspected alcohol impairment and one for suspected drug impairment.

The check took place from 6 p.m. to midnight Saturday on Palomar Street near Broadway, Chula Vista police said.

In total, 2,269 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, with six drivers stopped for a secondary inspection, the department reported. Twenty-three drivers were cited for driving without a license and nine vehicles were impounded, police said.
