Woman found dead with serious injuries in New York apartment: Police

A woman was found severely beaten and dead in a Brooklyn home on Saturday, police said.

Officers responding to the call found the 27-year-old woman unconscious and unresponsive with injuries to her body, lying face up on the kitchen floor of the home on Minna Street near Martense Ln. in Kensington around 5 a.m., cops and police sources said.

Paramedics confirmed the woman’s death at the scene of the accident. Police sources said she did not live in the house.

The city’s coroner will determine the woman’s cause of death.

Police kept her identity secret while they tried to locate her family members.

“I think this is a very safe area,” said Lisa Gardner, 43, who lives nearby. “This is tragic. It’s actually shocking to hear this, considering this area. And sad. I feel for this woman’s family, whoever she is.”
