Suspended former Lagos PDP chairman Aeroland joins APC

Suspended former Lagos PDP chairman Aeroland joins APC

A former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Segun Adewale alias Aeroland, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

He announced this at a press conference in Lagos on Saturday.

PDP leaders in Alimosho Local Government Area of the state suspended Adewale indefinitely for allegedly sowing discontent in the party last week.

The former PDP chairman, before his suspension, attributed the party’s failure to win elections in the state since 1999 to corruption and disunity among members.

In his remarks at the press conference, Adewale said he was not joining the APC to contest the 2027 elections but to contribute to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He said: “I am not contesting the 2027 elections but am joining the ruling party to support the president. My next step is to go to Abuja and prostrate myself before Tinubu.”

The former PDP leader stressed that his suspension was orchestrated by those who fought against him for exposing the mismanagement of campaign funds for the 2023 elections.

He added: “Instead of my party LGA taking action against Bode George and his gang, they claimed that I was the one who stole the money earmarked for the election campaign. The money they had not given me in the first place.

“They said I should be suspended because of this and I told them to come to my ward and suspend me so that I can join the APC.

“What am I even doing in the party? I spent millions on the election campaign, but in the end it wasn’t worth it.”

“I am not even in the PDP anymore because I have seen everything and I would not have stayed in the PDP until now if Atiku Abubakar had not begged me to run in 2023.”
