Fire in Buena Vista classified as accident | Latest from WDEL News

No one was injured in the fire and damage is estimated at $100,000.

A home on Aidone Drive in the Buena Vista Park Townhouse Community was caught on fire around 1:30 p.m. this afternoon.

Smoke and fire were visible on the roof of one of the end buildings of the terraced house, which eventually spread to an adjacent terraced house.

The Wilmington Manor Fire Company, along with several other fire departments, responded to the fire in New Castle.

State fire marshal officials determined the fire started on the exterior of the rear portion of the residence and was caused by an electrical/mechanical malfunction of the air conditioning system in the main house.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office has determined that this afternoon’s house fire was an accident.
