Individually wrapped Classic Delight sandwiches recalled over listeria concerns – WFTV

The Food and Drug Administration has announced the recall of individually wrapped sandwiches that were distributed in several states.

The FDA said sandwiches made by Ohio-based company Classic Delight may be contaminated with listeria.

The sandwiches were shipped to distributors in Arkansas, California, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas and then possibly sent to food service establishments, convenience stores and vending machines.

They were manufactured between May 11, 2023 and June 6, 2024 under the brands Classic Delight, Nutrisystem or Wakefield.

The following sandwiches are affected by the recall:

Listeria can cause a serious infection in young children, people with weakened immune systems, or the elderly. Symptoms include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. According to the FDA, pregnant women can suffer a miscarriage or stillbirth from listeria.

If you have the recalled sandwiches, you are asked to throw them away or return them for a full refund.
