Arrest in connection with sexual assault investigation in Bennington

MANCHESTER, NH (NEWS10) — A New Hampshire man accused of sexually assaulting two people in Bennington is in police custody. James Gathright, Jr. was arrested in Manchester, New Hampshire by the U.S. Marshals Service.

According to police, he attacked a woman on Northside Drive in Bennington in September 2023 and attacked a girl on the Rail Trail near Northside Drive a few days later.

The 56-year-old is awaiting extradition to Vermont.
