AFRM Stock Alert: Apple Pay to Include Affirm BNPL Later This Year

Confirm (NASDAQ:AFRM) shares are in the news on Tuesday after the point-of-sale payment solutions company announced that its services will soon be available Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) Pay later this year.

This will allow Apple Pay users to take out credit with a “buy now, pay later” option when making purchases with Affirm. This opens up longer-term credit payment options compared to what is already available through Apple Pay.

The news that Affirm has been added to Apple Pay shows the strength of the company’s services. Dan Dolev, an analyst at Mizuho Securities, emphasizes this in a note he received when discussing Apple’s addition of the service to Pay. CNBC.

“The bottom line – in our view – is that Affirm, with its strong brand and mature underwriting technology, has a competitive advantage that Apple likely could not achieve on its own.”

What this means for AFRM shares today

News that Affirm has partnered with Apple for its buy now, pay later loans is causing a lot of trading in the stock today. At the time of this writing, more than 11 million AFRM shares have changed hands. That’s nearly double the company’s average daily trading volume of about 5.9 million shares.

AFRM stock is up 4.2% since Tuesday morning. However, shares are still down 31.9% year-to-date.
