BOCES seeks up to 200,000 square feet of new space in Erie County

BUFFALO, NY — Erie 1 BOCES is seeking a new building to house its exceptional educational programs.

District Superintendent and CEO Michael Capuana said BOCES is looking for space between 160,000 and 200,000 square feet in Cheektowaga, Amherst or another central area to serve 19 school districts.

For two years, BOCES has been evaluating the challenges with its district partners in placing students in exceptional education. BOCES currently has four buildings housing between 300 and 350 special education students, ages 5 to 22.
