Hanford man arrested after illegal drugs found in car | YourCentralValley.com

HANFORD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man was arrested after officers allegedly found about 20 grams of methamphetamine, along with other small baggies containing similar substances, in his car, according to Hanford police.

According to police, the Hanford Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit conducted a traffic stop on Friday, June 7, which resulted in the arrest of William John Souza and the seizure of illegal drugs and other contraband.


During the traffic stop, Souza consented to a search of his vehicle, according to police. Police said police dog Jett and his handler were called to assist with the search. The dog alerted officers to the presence of narcotics in the left rear bumper area of ​​the vehicle.

According to police, upon closer inspection they found a black magnetic box attached to the left rear bumper and discovered 20 grams of methamphetamine and small bags containing similar substances.

A search of the interior revealed two digital scales and two bags containing $5,000 in cash. One scale was located behind the driver’s seat and the other was in the back seat pocket.

According to police, a search warrant was issued and signed for Souza’s Hanford apartment. During the search, several items were discovered in the apartment that indicated drug sales.
