SLCPD investigates hit-and-run, pedestrian in critical condition

SALT LAKE CITY – Salt Lake City police said they are investigating a hit-and-run crash that occurred Saturday in the Glendale neighborhood.

At 3:21 a.m., officers received reports of an accident near 1040 South Redwood Road, a press release said.

Officials reported that when they arrived on scene, they found a man on the ground with life-threatening injuries.

“According to the preliminary investigation, the man was struck while crossing the street by a car traveling north on Redwood Road,” the press release said.

Officials said the driver who struck the man did not stop and likely continued north. Officials said they have no information on the driver or his car.

The man was not near a marked zebra crossing at the time of the accident, the press release states.

SLCPD reported that the man was hospitalized in critical condition and detectives are working to confirm his identity.
