IPD: 66-year-old man threatened homeowner, attacked vehicle

ITHACA, NY (WHCU) — Ithaca police are charging a 66-year-old man for allegedly threatening another man and damaging another person’s vehicle.

According to police, Richard Johnston swung a baseball bat near a homeowner during an argument on North Aurora Street around 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning. Later in the day, IPD said, Johnston struck a vehicle with a wooden walking stick on East Seneca Street, causing some damage.

Johnston was later arrested in the Fall Creek area. He is charged with two felonies – illegal possession of a firearm and criminal damage – and two misdemeanors.
