Port Austin woman pleads guilty to making false police report

A Port Austin woman has taken responsibility for filing a false police report on Christmas Day 2023.

Leslie Rae Glinkerman, 44, pleaded guilty Monday morning in Huron County’s 52nd District Court to falsely reporting a crime.

According to testimony during Monday’s arraignment, Glinkerman admitted to Judge Gerald M. Prill that on December 25, 2023, she made false statements to a Michigan State Police trooper that she had been the victim of an aggravated assault at a home in Port Township.

Prill has scheduled sentencing for Monday, August 5, at 9 a.m. Glinkerman remains free on bail.
