Murder investigation underway after 16-year-old girl shot dead on reservation

RESERVE, Louisiana (WGNO) – Officials with the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office are investigating a shooting that killed a 16-year-old girl in Reserve on Sunday, June 2.

The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that the shooting occurred around 2 a.m. on Airline Highway near Central Avenue.


Officials at St. John the Baptist Parish said the victim, identified by the sheriff’s office as 16-year-old Aariah Henry, was shot once and taken to a hospital where she later died.

According to the sheriff’s statement, “after receiving witness statements and reviewing camera footage, this appears to be a targeted attack.”
