Police: Murder investigation underway following death of man in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A man is dead after a shooting in Hampton and police are investigating him as a homicide, police said Saturday.

The call came in around 7:30 p.m. The incident occurred in the 500 block of Old Buckroe Road. Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds and attempted to save his life. Members of the Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue arrived and pronounced the victim deceased. The victim’s name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.

This is the second shooting on this street in two days. The first occurred Friday in the 1400 block of Old Buckroe Road.

There is no information about the suspect.
