Travelers arrive at Houston airport with flu-like symptoms

Dozens of cruise ship passengers disembarking in the Pacific Northwest arrived at Houston Intercontinental Airport with flu-like symptoms, prompting a deep cleaning of the plane, officials said .

Paramedics rushed to Terminal C at 6:20 p.m. Friday after dozens of people from a travel group on a flight from Vancouver, British Columbia, arrived feeling ill.

According to the Houston Fire Department, up to 30 people in a group of 75 were sick, with many complaining of nausea.

None of the passengers required hospitalization, ABC-13 reported.

The passengers were aboard United Airlines Flight 1528 and the plane was taken out of service for a thorough cleaning before resuming flight, the company said.

According to United, Flight 1528 was a Boeing 737 MAX 8 with 163 passengers and six crew members on board.
