Police identified the accused Uber driver as Le’Myrious Monaye Dawson. Police said Dawson drove the woman to her home, robbed her home and sexually assaulted her.

As part of the investigation, arrest warrants were obtained for Dawson on suspicion of theft, burglary, assault and rape, police said.

Dawson was arrested at the West End MARTA station on Lee Street around 2:30 p.m. on May 6, police said. Fulton County Jail records show Dawson remained incarcerated Monday.

Search warrants were executed at Dawson’s car and home, where police said they found several of the woman’s items.

“The men and women of the Sandy Springs Police Department worked diligently to identify, locate and bring Mr. Dawson to justice. If other agencies are handling similar cases, please contact Det. JT Williams at (770) 551-6937,” police said in a news release.
