Firefighters battle massive blaze in Houston industrial estate in Livingston | UK News

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) was alerted on Monday morning and sent six engines and a high-reach appliance to the scene.

Firefighters are battling a massive blaze at a business park in West Lothian.

Emergency services were alerted to the fire which broke out in the Houston Industrial Estate in Livingston shortly after 11.30am on Monday.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) sent six engines and a high-reach appliance to the scene and remain on scene.

No casualties were reported.

Nicole McIlwaine lives nearby and her partner, Stuart Warnock, who works opposite the building that caught fire, sent her a photo of the blaze.

Ms McIlwaine told Sky News: “I’m fine where I am but he’s stuck at work because of the road closure.”

An SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11:34am on Monday 29 July to reports of a well-developed fire in a commercial building in the Houston Industrial Estate on Grange Road, Livingston.

“The control of the operations mobilized six fire trucks and a high-reach vehicle to the scene.

“The building has been evacuated and there are no casualties.

“Teams remain present on site.”
