26-year-old school worker who sexually abused autistic child in vile ‘abuse spree’ jailed – The Irish Sun

A school employee who sexually abused an autistic child in a heinous “war of abuse” has been jailed.

Acasia Welburn, now 26, sexually abused a boy under the age of 16 at a school in North Yorkshire where she held a “position of trust”.

The school employee contacted the autistic boy via social media and exchanged sexual messages and images.

She then subjected the boy to what police described as a “shocking series of abuses.”

Welburn regularly met with the victim for sexual intercourse in her car and her apartment.

She is now in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of sexual abuse of a child by a person of trust.

Welburn, from Telford in Shropshire, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison at York Crown Court today.

Detective Constable Alison Morris said the case showed that sex offenders like Welburn can be brought to justice.

Morris said: “I cannot thank the victim enough for the incredible courage and determination he showed.”

“This is another case that shows that it is possible for victims to seek and receive justice.”

“We would like to encourage anyone affected by a crime to contact the police.”

Morris, the North Yorkshire abuse police officer, added: “You will be supported and you will be listened to.”
