Trump calls Harris ‘dumb as a rock’ in new, insane attack

Donald Trump called Vice President Kamala Harris “dumb as a rock” in a post on Truth Social this afternoon – a sign that the former president has shifted his campaign from Joe Biden to an attack on the favored candidate to succeed him.

“Wow, I’m looking at the fake news right now and they’re doing their best to turn the worst president in our country’s history into a ‘brilliant and heroic leader’ (he was heroic because he resigned!) and to turn ‘dumb stone’ Kamala Harris from a completely failed and insignificant vice president into a future ‘great’ president,” he wrote.

“No, it does not work out this way!”

Just hours later, a new memo from Trump campaign advisers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles laid out exactly how the former president plans to challenge Harris, who had begun to garner support from Democratic leaders and donations after President Joe Biden announced the suspension of his campaign on Sunday afternoon.

“Just as Donald Trump fired Joe Biden, he will show the world that he can fire the dangerously liberal Kamala,” the memo said.

Trump’s advisers attacked Harris for her role as a “border czar,” blaming her for “the invasion of the border that has resulted in nearly 100 terrorists currently in the United States, hundreds of thousands of Americans killed by fentanyl, and an epidemic of child trafficking that has resulted in murders and kidnappings.”

Although Customs and Border Protection agents have recorded a record high of more than 250,000 migrant encounters in 2023, crossings at the southern border have begun to decline in recent months — in June, total crossings fell 23%, according to the agency. The Biden administration also signed an executive order in June that allows the government to close the border if Customs and Border Protection detects more than 2,500 border crossings in a day.

According to the most recent data released by CBP, agents encountered a total of 94 migrants in the Terrorist Screening Dataset, better known as the terrorist watch list.

They also accused Harris of “proliferating a new kind of criminality, one that is directly linked to Harris’s own beliefs and supported by her actions: released migrants who hunt and kill innocent Americans.” They echoed Trump’s frequent campaign slogan of “migrant criminality” after high-profile incidents such as the murder of Georgia college student Laken Riley.

The memo claimed that Trump was ahead of Harris in the polls, based on a HarrisX/Forbes poll conducted after Trump accepted the Republican nomination but before Biden dropped out of the race on Sunday, which found the former president ahead by nine points.

The memo also cited “Democratic polls released just today” showing Trump ahead in Pennsylvania, Arizona, Michigan and Wisconsin, but did not specify which polls they were or when they were conducted. Morning Consult released poll results on Monday after Biden’s withdrawal showing Harris trailing Trump by just two points – a gain from their last poll, which showed Biden trailing Trump by six points.

According to a Quinnipiac University poll that ended Sunday, the race was too close to predict a winner: Trump received 49 percent of the vote, Harris 47 percent.
