Sports coach accused of sexual assault and sexual harassment released on bail

Guy Morris, 45, a sports coach accused of sexually abusing three girls aged 13, 14 and 16 in Suva, has been released on bail.

Morris appeared before Judge Pulekeria Low this afternoon.

He is accused of sexually abusing three girls between February last year and March this year.

Morris is accused of eight counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent touching.

Judge Low granted bail of $500 and provided two sureties. He ordered that the defendant not reoffend while in custody and not interfere with prosecution witnesses. He also imposed other strict bail conditions, including surrendering all travel documents.

He must also report to the Raiwaqa police station every second Friday of the month.

The matter was adjourned to 20 August.
