Socorro Police: Man arrested for multiple knife attacks on another man

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 41-year-old man is charged with aggravated assault after allegedly stabbing another man multiple times over the weekend, Socorro police said.

Jesus Angel Huerta, 41, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was placed in the El Paso County Detention Center on $500,000 bail, Socorro police said.


According to Socorro Police, officers responded to a 911 call for an aggravated assault at 12:08 a.m. Sunday, July 7, in the 200 block of Flor Amarilla.

When officers arrived at the home, they found a male victim outside on the porch who had multiple stab wounds and was bleeding, Socorro police said. Police did not release the victim’s age or what led to the stabbing.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and is currently being treated for his injuries, Socorro police said.

According to Socorro police, Huerta was found inside the home and taken into custody without incident.

Officers from the Socorro Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division arrived at the home to investigate and obtained an arrest warrant for Huerta, Socorro police said.
