Suspect rescued after jumping into water following police pursuit in Miami-Dade – NBC 6 South Florida

A suspect had to be rescued by officers after he jumped into a waterway in Miami-Dade Thursday afternoon after police pursued a stolen car.

Aerial footage showed law enforcement officers, including Miami-Dade police and the Florida Highway Patrol, pursuing the vehicle, a silver Honda sedan, southbound on the Palmetto Expressway.

The vehicle had previously been stolen from Honda of South Miami.

The Honda eventually stopped near Northwest 25th Street in Doral, where the suspect jumped into the water.

Multiple officers were seen jumping into the water to pull the person out. The subject was handcuffed and taken to a police car.
