New video shows bloody knife attack in Miami Gardens gym

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Florida. – A newly released video shows a gruesome attack at a South Florida gym that nearly killed one man and landed another behind bars.

The attack occurred in May at a 24-Hour Gym in Miami Gardens.

Surveillance video shows off-duty police officers outside a gym trying to keep an injured man alive after he was stabbed while exercising.

According to police, the video shows 28-year-old Andrew Floyd Rodríguez entering the gym without registering and with a backpack in his hand.

From another perspective, he is seen searching his bag before confronting the victim.

According to investigators, Rodriguez was armed with a knife and used it to stab the man several times.

The video shows the victim leaving the gym, leaving a trail of blood behind, followed by the alleged attacker, who is covered in his victim’s blood.

A video from a nearby apartment complex also shows Rodriguez running away.

A police report obtained by Local 10 News states that before the bloody brawl, Rodriguez made reference to the victim’s disabled child, telling him, “You are weak, just like your daughter.”

The report also said the two had previously argued over allegations of a possible affair.

Rodriguez has now been charged with attempted murder.
