Man tells police he was shot in parking lot of northwest Omaha apartment building

OMAHA, Nebraska (WOWT) – A 23-year-old man told Omaha police he was shot while fighting back against a man who tried to rob him at a northwest Omaha apartment complex.

OPD officers arrived at CUMC-Bergan Mercy Hospital at 12:35 a.m. Monday. The man told police he was in the parking lot of an apartment complex southwest of 108th Street and West Maple Road when a man approached him and demanded money.

He said he struggled with the man, who then pulled out a firearm and shot him. According to the OPD report, the wound was not life-threatening.
