Police close off a major road following an incident in south London

A main street in Wallington was cordoned off by police.

Yesterday (28 June) at around 5pm, several police vehicles were spotted in High Street, Wallington, near Belmont Road.

A picture obtained by Your Local Guardian shows a police car and a police cordon.

Wallington High Street was closed while the incident was dealt with, but has now reopened.

The nature of the incident is unknown.

We have asked the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service for further information.
