Motorcyclist injured in Clayton County crash Thursday | News

Motorcyclist Harold McElderry, 64, of Mt. Vernon, was seriously injured late Thursday morning when his 1996 Harley Davidson crashed on Highway 18 west of McGregor in Clayton County.

The Iowa State Patrol reported that McElderry’s motorcycle left the roadway on Highway 18 near Jasper Avenue around 11 a.m. and came to rest in the south ditch. McElderry was transported by Gundersen Aircare to Gundersen Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. The extent of his injuries was not released.

Post 10 ISP was assisted at the scene by the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, McGregor Fire Department, MarMac Ambulance, MarMac Police Department, Guttenberg Police Department, and Gundersen Ambulance and Aircare. The accident remains under investigation.
