Woman and girl dead in Chandler

CHANDLER, Arizona – Authorities say a woman and a girl are dead after a shooting in Chandler.

According to Chandler police, the incident occurred before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday near Ray Road and Priest Drive.

Officers responded after a concerned neighbor called 911 to check on his well-being, police said.

“When officers arrived, they found two dead people, an adult woman and a minor girl, in a residential complex,” police said.

Further details about the incident, including the names of those involved, were not initially released. Police are trying to contact the next of kin of the two.

Police said the investigation was still “in its early stages” and they expect to release more information as soon as possible. Officials also said there was no danger to the public.
