University of Olivet fraternity suspended for harassment

OLIVET, Michigan – A fraternity at the University of Olivet has been suspended for hazing activities.

University of Olivet President Steven M. Corey wrote that the decision to suspend Sigma Beta Sorority was made after reviewing irrefutable video evidence as well as witness testimony and statements from those involved.

He says the events were so disturbing that some in the Sigma community decided to go public.

Corey says the university conducted a thorough investigation following procedures outlined in the student handbook.

As a result of the investigation, Sigma Beta was suspended until the end of June 2025.
