Navi Mumbai: A railway police officer, Vaibhav Angarakh (24), has been accused of repeatedly raping a 24-year-old model for the past 10 months and promising her marriage. He allegedly took nude photographs of her and hacked into her social media accounts and threatened to make her intimate pictures viral. The police officer is currently posted in Palghar. The woman claimed that she had filed a sexual assault complaint at Khadakpada police station in Thane on May 11, but the police did not take any action. Only on Saturday was a complaint filed at the same police station – more than a month after the woman filed the complaint. The complaint states that the railway police officer somehow got a copy of the woman’s written complaint on his phone and even showed it to her. He allegedly threatened to file false cases against the woman and her family members under Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) charges. The two had met through social media last July. The woman claims that the railway police officer took photos of her while she was changing clothes and bathing. Railway police sub-inspector CK Kandpile said the police officer was not on regular duty.
