Republic man killed in car crash north of Marionville

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Missouri – A Republic man has died after his SUV crashed into a sign on a state highway two miles north of Marionville on Sunday, June 23.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report, 37-year-old Christopher V. Bell was traveling eastbound on Missouri Route 14 at 1:20 p.m. Sunday when his 2012 Chevrolet Equinox left the roadway and struck a sign. The vehicle overturned and Bell was ejected from the vehicle.

Bell was pronounced dead at the scene by a Cox South medical examiner at 2:07 p.m. Next of kin have been notified of Bell’s passing.

This is the 45th fatal accident in MSHP Troop D in 2024.
