One dead after collision in Pickens County, cops say

The South Carolina Highway Patrol has confirmed that one person has died following a car crash in Pickens County, South Carolina. According to police, the incident occurred around 11:20 a.m. 8 miles north of Pickens on Highway 11 as an SUV and motorcycle were traveling north. The 2021 Ford SUV slowed to turn onto a private road and as the 2016 KTM motorcycle attempted to pass it, it struck the rear of the SUV. The driver of the SUV was not injured, while the motorcyclist died, troopers said. No further information has been released at this time.
