North Dakota AG Wrigley makes first public comments on Epic Companies investigation | The Mighty 790 KFGO

Attorney General Drew Wrigley (R-ND)

BISMARCK, ND (KFGO Prairie Public Radio) – More than a month after KFGO News reported that West Fargo-based Epic Companies was shut down and under investigation, Attorney General Drew Wrigley has made his first public comments.

Wrigley was asked about Epic during a press conference in Bismarck where he released state crime statistics for 2023.

“It’s obviously a very concerning issue,” Wrigley said. “It’s not always criminal misconduct, but when there’s evidence of it, we investigate it. Sometimes it’s civil in nature, but no matter what category it falls into, it’s concerning in nature. It’s monitored, evaluated and investigated.”

Epic owns or manages commercial and residential properties throughout the region and has been contracted to host Norsk Hostfest in Minot, which is returning to local control for this fall’s event.

Epic has laid off employees and a number of contractors and suppliers say they are owed significant amounts of money.

The company had no comment. Multiple sources say the company is under investigation by both state and federal authorities.

The state securities regulator is also among the investigative authorities.
