Suspected porch pirate arrested after fleeing police in Lacey – KIRO 7 News Seattle

LACEY, Wash. – A suspected porch pirate is in jail after a corporal recognized him from an earlier incident.

On Tuesday, Lacey police officers were investigating a package theft when a local officer recognized a possible suspect she had encountered a week earlier in connection with a white Ford Explorer that was driving due to a disturbance.

After the corporal saw the video of the theft recorded with a Ring camera, her suspicions were confirmed and she took action and headed to the suspects’ address.

No one was home, but as she drove away, the corporal spotted the suspect’s white SUV. A traffic stop was attempted, but failed as the suspect sped away.

According to police, the suspect was eventually stopped, jumped out of his SUV and ran away, but later returned to his car.

Upon his return, he was arrested and charged with theft and driving without a license.
