A 13-year-old boy was killed and an older teenager was seriously injured in two separate subway surfing accidents in the Bronx early Friday – the latest victims of this disturbing trend, according to police and sources.

The younger teenager fell from a northbound Line 6 train between the Westchester Square and Middletown Road stations in Pelham shortly before 9 a.m., police and sources said.

He was found unconscious and unresponsive on the street beneath the elevated tracks.

The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, a 15-year-old boy was seriously injured several hours earlier while riding on the roof of another northbound Line 6 train at the Morris Ave.-Soundview station in Soundview.

The 15-year-old was taken to Jacobi Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The two incidents occurred just days after a 14-year-old boy was seriously injured while subway surfing in Queens.

The reckless teenager was sitting on the roof of a southbound 7 train on Sunday when he hit his head on a beam as the train pulled into the 111th Street Station shortly before 4:30 p.m., police said.

The boy was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Subway surfing has become a dangerous trend for thrill-seeking teenagers who film themselves and post the videos on social media.

According to MTA statistics, there were 450 reports of people riding outside trains, including on the roof, in the first six months of 2023 – a significant increase from the 262 reports during the same period in 2019.
