ABC-7 FIRST ALERT: Today is a scorching hot day, dangerous temperatures persist through the weekend

Another dangerously hot day is expected in the Borderland. We remain under the ABC-7 First Alert due to heat! After a record-breaking hot day, temperatures today were close to yesterday’s highs. We rose to 107. With the drop to 81 this morning, we surpassed the record low of 78 set in 1994.

Temperatures will remain well above normal over Father’s Day weekend and could reach highs of around 41 degrees.

Next week, the high mountain ridge that has heated up the border region will slide eastwards and we will experience a brief “cooling down” of temperatures to over 35 to 37 degrees.
