Fresno County man arrested after sniffer dog finds 130 pounds of marijuana, officials say | YourCentralValley.com

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 28-year-old Mendocino County man was arrested and released on a charge of transporting marijuana for sale, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.

Officials said drug agents from the Sheriff’s Office arrested David Giglio of Redwood Valley (Mendocino County) for transporting marijuana for sale.

Detectives stopped an SUV traveling on Interstate 5 in Fresno County for a traffic violation. Officials say Cash, the sheriff’s sniffer dog, smelled the odor of drugs and alerted detectives.

According to officials, a search of the vehicle found 130 pounds of processed, packaged marijuana. Investigators seized the marijuana as evidence and for destruction.

Deputies said Giglio was released by police and issued a summons.
