Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are likely Wednesday and Thursday, moving inland during the afternoon. Many coastal areas, including Jacksonville, are likely to see heavy rain (1 inch or less).

Father’s Day weekend promises to be hot and mostly dry.

Onshore winds will continue throughout the weekend, so there will continue to be a moderate risk of rip currents on the beaches.

Tropics: A weak low pressure system will cross the state of Florida and enter the southwest Atlantic off the coast of the southeastern United States later this week. Conditions are not ideal for tropical development, but there is a small chance of a tropical/subtropical system forming. There are no impacts for us other than the risk of increased surf rip currents on the beaches later this week.
