Atlanta Mayor Dickens asks MARTA to halt renovation of Five Points station

Mayor of Atlanta Andrew Dickens has asked MARTA to suspend a major renovation of the Five Points train station.

He wants to take a closer look at an operational audit of the transit agency to find out where its money is going.

In a letter to MARTA CEO Collie Greenwood, Dickens said the audit’s preliminary findings “highlight several areas that require further clarity and attention.”

Renovation of the Five Points station in downtown Atlanta was scheduled to begin next month and would take up to four years.
