BOSTON – Enforcement and Deportation Operations Boston has arrested an illegally present Guatemalan citizen charged with the rape of a minor in Bristol County. ERO Boston deportation officers arrested Yader Alexander Morales-Quevedo, a 24-year-old Guatemalan noncitizen in New Bedford.

“Yader Alexander Morales-Quevedo will face justice, but he faces some very serious charges,” said Todd M. Lyons, director of ERO’s Boston field office. “He posed a significant threat to the children in our Massachusetts communities. ERO Boston will continue to prioritize public safety by apprehending and removing serious non-citizen offenders from our New England neighborhoods.”

Morales-Quevedo entered the United States illegally on an unknown date and at an unknown location without being examined, admitted, or paroled by a U.S. immigration officer.

The New Bedford District Court charged Morales-Quevedo with rape of a child on August 30, 2022. The court enhanced the charges and sent them to Superior Court for trial.

The Bristol County Superior Court charged Morales-Quevedo on January 3, 2023, with rape of a child and nudity/display of a child in a lascivious pose.

ERO Boston deportation officers arrested Morales-Quevedo in New Bedford on May 28. He will remain in ERO custody pending the outcome of his deportation proceedings.
