State police respond to a tractor-trailer accident on I-72 Saturday morning

PIATT COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) – State police responded to I-72 near Monticello Saturday morning after they say an accident caused a tractor-trailer to overturn and land in the median.

At approximately 5:25 a.m., state police announced they arrived at the scene of the crash on I-72 westbound at mile marker 168.5. Police said the left lane of the westbound lanes would be closed while recovery crews worked to recover the vehicle from the median.

State police urged drivers to be especially careful when driving through the area.
