Silver Alert activated for 58-year-old man with early signs of dementia

WEST JORDAN, Utah (KUTV) — A Silver Alert was activated for a 58-year-old man with early dementia who was not taking his required medication.

West Jordan Police reported that Douglas James Steadman was last seen on May 31 at 2:30 p.m. They said he left West Jordan and was on his way to a car show in Manti.

He was believed to be wearing a black hat, jeans, white tennis shoes and a white shirt. Officials added that he may have been driving a white 1991 Ford Ranger with white exterior.

Officials described Douglas as 5’8″ tall, with long white hair and brown eyes.

They said Douglas had early signs of dementia and COPD, was sleep deprived and had not taken necessary medications.

West Jordan Police have information that Douglas came through Spanish Fork Canyon.
