Jenkins Boys honored for heroic actions in swimming accident | The Bulldog 103.9 FM | 103.9 The Bulldog

A nine-year-old Jenkins boy is being honored by the Jenkins Police Department for coming to the aid of another child who couldn’t swim.

Benjamin Noah Gibson was on vacation with his family in Mount Airy last weekend.

The Mountain Eagle reports that he was swimming in a hotel pool without a lifeguard when he saw a struggling 8-year-old boy and pulled him out of the pool.

Jenkins Police Chief Jim Stephens told the newspaper that he would present Noah with a letter recognizing his heroism at the next Jenkins City Council meeting.
