Beltangady: Orphaned, mentally disabled girl raped and impregnated by a gang

Beltangady, May 31: In a horrific incident, a mentally challenged orphan girl was raped by a group of men at Pilichandikallu in Guruvayanakere. The victim is six months pregnant after the relentless abuse.

According to reports, four to six men from Moodbidri area took advantage of the victim’s mental illness to physically abuse her. The girl lives at home with her mentally challenged brother while her father, who works long hours to earn a living, leaves early in the morning and returns late in the evening. The perpetrators took advantage of the father’s absence to constantly harass the girl.

The case was reported to Beltangady police station. Authorities have arrested some of the accused and are actively searching for the remaining suspects.
