Spencer Schwellenbach called up by the Atlanta Braves

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Former Nebraska star and 2nd round MLB draft pick Spencer Schwellenbach has been called up by the Atlanta Braves. Schwellenbach is scheduled to make his MLB debut and start as a pitcher for the Braves on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.

Schwellenbach was a dual-threat player for the Huskers between 2019-2021; however, after he was drafted to Atlanta, the team converted him to a full-time pitcher.

The former Big Ten Player of the Year gets his chance on the show just 3 days before his 24th birthday.
