One dead and one injured in dirt bike collision in Kimball Bottoms

BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — One man was killed and another seriously injured when a dirt bike accident occurred Monday evening, May 27.

According to a North Dakota Highway Patrol news release, at approximately 5:35 p.m., a Honda dirt bike was traveling westbound on a dirt trail in the Kimball Bottoms OHV area south of Bismarck when a head-on collision occurred between the vehicle and a second motorcycle (a KTM) traveling eastbound on the same dirt trail. Both riders were ejected from their motorcycles following the crash.


The driver of the Honda – a 24-year-old man from Bismarck – was taken to CHI St. Alexius Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and died. The driver of the KTM was taken to Sanford Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The crash is currently still under investigation.
