Two people arrested in undercover investigation against child molesters in Sandy

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Two men were arrested last week in an undercover operation against child molesters conducted by Sandy police and other law enforcement agencies.

Officials said police posed as underage boys and girls on various social media platforms, prompting several people to search for sex online because they thought the investigators were children.

As a result of the undercover operation, police arrested Alexander Soto, 29, of Beaverton, on May 17. He was taken to the Clackamas County Jail and is being held on charges including enticement of a minor and first-degree sexual battery of a minor on the internet.

The investigation led to another arrest on Friday when police in The Dalles arrested 72-year-old George Pasch. He was booked into Northern Oregon Corrections on similar charges.

Officials believe there are likely to be further arrests and will continue their investigation.

Anyone who knows of other possible victims in these cases is asked to contact the police.
