Police investigate disturbance in Waterloo

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a disturbance involving racial slurs in Waterloo.

On May 26, 2024, at approximately 1 a.m., police responded to a report of a fight between two men in the area of ​​Menno Street and Erb Street West.

When police arrived, one of the men involved fled on foot. He was last seen running from Euclid Avenue to Father David Bauer Drive.

Through investigation, police learned that an unknown man approached and confronted a man and woman as they walked along Erb Street West. The unknown man also yelled racial slurs at the man.

Neither the woman nor the man suffered any physical injuries in the incident.

The unknown man is described as white, 1.80 m tall, of slim build and wearing a white shirt, black shorts and white shoes.

The investigation is ongoing.
