Bartender arrested during SLA inspection in Mount Sinai

On May 26, Suffolk County police arrested a bartender during a New York State Liquor Authority stop for allegedly selling alcohol to minors at a Mount Sinai bar.

In response to complaints from the public, officers from the Sixth District Criminal Division, along with representatives from the New York State Liquor Authority and the City of Brookhaven Fire Marshal, Investigator and Building Inspector, conducted an SLA inspection at the Royal Bar and Billiards, 164 Route 25A, at approximately 12 p.m.

During the inspection, Matthew Donnelly, a bartender at the establishment, allegedly sold alcoholic beverages to an underage police officer at the bar. Donnelly, 37, of Mount Sinai, was arrested and charged with first-degree unauthorized contact with a child. He was issued a summons and will be arraigned at a later date in First District Court in Central Islip.
